Homework help

We don't feed students the answers to homework questions. Instead, we show them how to learn. Our curriculum developers are all experienced classroom teachers who know how to help students understand concepts--not just memorize them. Our teaching style is friendly and supportive. But this doesn't mean we talk down to students, or skimp on academic standards. Our lessons meet or exceed national content standards in all subject areas.

Advance Math

Enrolling in the Math Program will help build and advance your child's math skills, for an advantage in school and beyond. Our Math Worksheets will complete in two sessions a week at a Center, and then another five assignments to be completed at home. Your child will work at his or her own pace, mastering each new concept before moving on. With each worksheet, you’ll find your child accelerating important math skills. Many parents ultimately find their children mastering concepts that put them grade levels ahead of their peers.

Mathematical ideas have been explained in the simplest possible way. Here you will have plenty of math help and lots of fun while learning and teaching math step-by-step.

Keeping in mind the mental level of a child, every effort has been made to introduce new concepts in a simple language, so that the child or student understands them easily. Basic concepts have been explained through attractive examples relating to our day-to-day life experience. Why playing with algebraic and calculus concepts—rather than doing arithmetic drills—may be a better way to introduce children to math

BMA

Sometimes the understanding of fundamental concepts alone does not help the students to crack the competitive exams as most of them are objective in structure. Students need rigorous training to familiarize themselves to the style of the exams they are attempting. The board exams which are of qualifying, but not competitive, nature do not completely address the needs of students in testing them in objective type format. To bridge this gap and to enable the students to face the reality of competitive exams, Our Academy is bringing out many useful Reference books, Resource books and Handbooks. BMA is specialised in designing thought provoking and application based questions.

Pre-SAT

While the PSAT is a great primer for the SAT (and even the ACT), it's way more than just a trial run for the real thing. More than 3.4 million high school students (mostly juniors and sophomores) take this nationwide multiple-choice test every year.

Almost all students take the PSAT during their junior year, but many students take the PSAT when they are sophomores to get the feel of the test. However, it is only the scores from the PSAT taken in your junior year that are considered for the National Merit Scholarship competition.

When do you take the PSAT?

The PSAT is offered nationally every year in October. Ask your school counselor about when your class is scheduled to take the PSAT.

What does the PSAT test?

The PSAT has two sections: Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing. You’ll encounter passage-based questions—sometimes accompanied by tables, graphs, and charts—and math problems drawing upon algebra, geometry, and a little trig.

How is the PSAT scored?

Each section is scored on a scale of 160–760, making a “perfect” score 1520. But wait! There are also test scores, cross-test scores, and subscores

Competitive Math

The Competition Math has 4 levels of competition—school, chapter, state and national. Each level of competition is comprised of 4 rounds—Sprint, Target, Team and Countdown Round. Altogether the rounds are designed to take about 3 hours to complete.

Sprint Round: focuses on speed and accuracy. Students have 40 minutes to complete 30 math problems without a calculator.

Target Round: focuses on problem-solving and mathematical reasoning. Students receive 4 pairs of problems and have 6 minutes to complete each pair, assuming the use of a calculator.

Team Round: focuses on problem-solving and collaboration. Students have 20 minutes to complete 10 math problems, assuming the use of a calculator. Only the 4 students on a school's team can take this round officially.

Countdown Round: focuses on speed and accuracy. Students have a maximum of 45 seconds per problem without a calculator. This round is optional at the school, chapter and state level.

High Level Vocabulary

“Great work!” and “Way to go!” are nice, but using higher-level vocabulary when giving written feedback will motivate students to learn more-sophisticated words as well as their usage. Connecting the language to their work is the ultimate motivation for kids to learn and remember the meanings of new words and phrases.

Use rich vocabulary in your own grading and feedback.

  • Incorporate rich vocabulary into your discussion of literary elements.
  • Make your own word wall (and no, your students aren’t too old for that!)
  • Incorporate vocabulary into peer conferencing
  • Acknowledge students’ use of strong vocabulary.
  • Do a vocabulary warm-up.

Then, here's what to do after the students pick their own words:

Ask each child to create a chart where he/she writes down words of choice, and rates each one as "know it," "sort of know it," or "don't know it at all." Then, on the same paper, have them write a definition or "my guess on meaning" for the words they know and kind of know (No dictionaries!) Before they turn in these pre-reading charts, be sure to emphasize this is not about "being right" but that they are providing you with information to guide next steps in class vocabulary instruction.
